Designed for real-world situations
Tinted protective IR-blocking lenses provide the durability required for conducting research outdoors or in demanding environmental conditions. Integrating the components inside the frame makes the Tobii Pro Glasses 3 rugged and compact enough to be worn under helmets or other protective equipment.
Eye tracking has long been a methodology and working tool in scientific research, and it is increasingly used in marketing and consumer research as well, to increase efficiency and quality in the workplace.
Tobii Pro Glasses 3 – What’s new?
Our third generation of wearable eye tracking glasses has been designed to provide freedom and confidence. We wanted to create a wearable device that is versatile enough to be used in real-world applications without compromising on data quality and reliability.
Comprehensive eye tracking
The Tobii Pro Glasses 3 are designed to deliver comprehensive eye tracking data across different gaze angles. Integrating the illuminators and cameras into the lenses removes obstacles in the user’s field of view, while the wide-angle camera makes it possible to record gaze data across a wide field of view. This means the user can see more, and the system can capture more, which is useful for research involving tasks where participants must regularly look up and down, or where the application covers a large area within the user’s field of view.
Quality and reliability
Integrating Tobii’s core eye tracking technology into the lenses enables optimal positioning of the eye tracking cameras and illuminators, while Tobii’s patented 3D eye model combined with two cameras per eye delivers highly accurate gaze data with minimal data loss and robust pupil size estimation. Slippage compensation technology and durable calibration ensure robust and consistent eye tracking data, even if the glasses move on the participant’s head or are taken off and put back on.
Built-in accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer sensors make it possible to distinguish between head and eye movements, which eliminates the effect of head movement on the eye tracking data.
Effective eye tracking for everyone
The Tobii Pro Glasses 3 are able to successfully track a large percentage of the population, regardless of eye color and shape. In addition, we offer various nose pads to ensure an optimal fit for different users, as well as additional corrective lenses for people with vision impairments.
Weather resistance
Additional protective lenses make it possible to use the Tobii Pro Glasses 3 in more demanding conditions. The tinted, infrared-blocking version supports applications in bright outdoor surroundings.
Headwear compatibility
The lightweight and rugged design fits well under helmets and other protective equipment, enabling data collection in a variety of environments, such as factories, construction sites, sports fields or training simulators.
Flexibility with our API
The Tobii Pro Glasses 3 API makes it possible to create custom solutions and integrations. All data is available live through the API, which uses standard protocols to make it easier to use, for example with a video stream available via WebRTC and RTSP.
Synchronization
Combine eye tracking data with other biometric measurements and find out which physiological responses are triggered by visual stimuli. Find out how they relate to gaze behavior by combining eye tracking data from the Pro Glasses 3 with a wide range of devices, including EEG, NIRS, GSR, motion capture systems, respiration rate and heart rate sensors. The Pro Glasses 3 support a range of online and offline synchronization methods, such as TTL, TCP/IP and NTP, and offer the highest level of synchronization with the lowest latency. All of this can be achieved even without a laptop.
