Reach further in your research

Tobii Pro Fusion is the next generation of compact, high-performance eye trackers from Tobii AB.
Take your research to topics that would otherwise be difficult to bring into the lab. Collect data in schools, hospitals, libraries and other places that participants can access more easily.
With sampling rates up to 250 Hz, two eye tracking cameras and two pupil tracking modes (bright and dark pupil), Pro Fusion lets you tailor your data collection setup to different research populations, scenarios and data requirements.

What's new in a compact format:

  • More detailed data with sampling rates up to 250 Hz.
  • Greater head movement tolerance thanks to two new eye tracking cameras and improved eye tracking algorithms.
  • No external processing unit is required to ensure temporal consistency, since data is processed autonomously across three internal processors.
  • Support for new PC ports: USB Type-C.
  • Pupil diameter data provided at the selected sampling rate.
“Our study participants are individuals with autism spectrum disorders or schizophrenia, for whom it is essential to have an eye tracking system that is unobtrusive and allows head movement. The dual eye tracking cameras, the sampling rate and the discreet design of the Tobii Pro Fusion will open up possibilities for more extensive research on our demographic”
Dr. J. Adam Noah, Yale School of Medicine, Brain Function Laboratory

Collect your data where your subjects are available

Recruiting test subjects is an obstacle that all researchers face. Some test populations are harder to recruit and test in the lab, and some individuals may even feel uncomfortable in that environment.
The size and shape of the Tobii Pro Fusion allow you to build a compact mobile lab that lets you take data collection to where your subjects are available and feel more comfortable, without compromising data quality and detail.
Tobii’s patented eye tracking algorithms and robust subject calibration ensure that the eye tracker generates reliable data across a variety of indoor environments.

“You want to collect data in an environment where children feel most comfortable, trusting that you will return to the lab with accurate data to answer your research questions. I’m delighted to be able to incorporate the Tobii Pro Fusion into our research toolkit and see how it can help us take our research even further.”
Julian Schmitz, Professor at the Leipzig Research Center for Early Child Development, Leipzig University

Support for different data collection scenarios

If you have a busy lab where students run different projects, each project will likely have different requirements for its eye tracking setup. Tobii Pro Fusion provides a flexible solution that supports different research scenarios and study designs.
Pro Fusion has a slim design that integrates well with various freestanding screens and laptops with a diagonal of up to 24 inches. The device can also be mounted on a tripod and combined with a scene camera, so it can be used in research settings that use real-world stimuli such as physical objects or scenes.
The sampling rate of up to 250 Hz enables data capture for a wide range of experimental paradigms (fixation, smooth pursuit and saccades).
Different sampling rates and their associated bright and dark pupil tracking modes let you tailor performance to the study design and test population.*
Tobii Pro Eye Tracker Manager — this is a configuration tool — guides the user through the setup procedure and manages various settings. The application is available free of charge.

High data quality standards

The Tobii Pro Fusion eye tracker is designed to deliver high data quality and tracking reliability:
Two cameras specially designed by Tobii and optimized for eye tracking. Tobii’s patented 3D eye model delivers excellent gaze data, including wide gaze angles and all corners of the screen.
Bright and dark pupil illuminators for NIR light provide excellent tracking robustness regardless of eye shape, ethnicity or age.
Fully embedded processing and illumination control enables the system to operate autonomously, minimizing the load on the system CPU.
The system maintains high accuracy, precision and tracking robustness during the subject’s natural head movements and across a variety of indoor lighting environments.

Tobii Pro Lab

Tobii Pro Fusion works with Tobii Pro Lab, providing a visual user interface and dedicated software features that guide and support the researcher through the various phases of data collection and processing during an experiment – from stimulus setup and test recording to preparing data for further analysis.
You can create different experiments, collect eye tracking data, review and analyze individual recordings, and aggregate data for quantitative analysis and visualization.
Pro Lab is built on a platform that provides precise and consistent timing accuracy. You can count on full transparency – with access to both gaze data and processed eye movement data (fixation filters), as well as insight into metric calculations.
Read more about how raw data is classified into eye movements in Pro Lab.
Pro Lab can also be used to synchronize eye tracking data with other biometric data streams such as EEG, GSR and ECG.

Tobii Pro SDK

Tobii Pro SDK provides a comprehensive toolkit for researchers and partners who want to develop analysis applications or scripts for use with Pro Fusion and other screen-based eye trackers from Tobii Pro.
This SDK provides access to a full set of advanced gaze data streams relevant to your research, while advanced timing handling compensates for time differences in real time between the eye tracker and the computer running the SDK application, ensuring high synchronization accuracy.
Tobii Pro SDK offers multi-platform support (including the latest versions of Windows, Linux and Mac) and API bindings for several programming languages (.NET, Python and Matlab).
