The handy FITEL NINJA fusion splicer ensures reliable and remarkably easy operation thanks to its spacious and illuminated splicing chamber. The FITEL NINJA fusion splicer is the first cladding-alignment splicer on the market designed to make cleaning of the splicing chamber, optics and v-grooves as easy as possible. FITEL NINJA NJ001 fusion splicer › Cladding alignment

FITEL NINJA NJ001 is a portable Furukawa Electric fusion splicer with cladding alignment (clad alignment) — designed for FTTx, LAN and Metro network installers who value speed, light weight and reliability in the field. It weighs just 970 g, is approx. 40% smaller than its predecessor (S123C) and is the first splicer on the market to feature a removable v-groove, which revolutionizes the everyday maintenance of the device. NINJA is the ideal tool for mass FTTx installations, splicing of DROP cables and work in harsh field conditions.

Cladding alignment › who is NINJA for?

Splicers fall into two types: core alignment (e.g. FITEL S179+) and cladding alignment. Cladding alignment means the splicer aligns the fibers based on the outer diameter of the cladding — the process is faster and mechanically simpler, which translates into a lower device cost and easier operation. The splice loss is slightly higher than with core alignment (SM: 0.05 dB), but in typical FTTx, LAN and access installations this is fully acceptable.

NINJA is ideal wherever the priority is installation speed, mobility and low cost of ownership — in mass FTTx network deployments, installations to the end customer, splicing of DROP cables and anywhere a technician works alone in the field.

Key features of the FITEL NINJA

First splicer on the market with a removable v-groove

NINJA is the first splicer in the world to feature a removable v-groove — it can be taken out without tools and the lenses and chamber can be thoroughly cleaned within a few minutes. This patented Furukawa solution radically simplifies maintenance and extends the life of the device. NINJA also features tool-free electrode replacement and a mirror-free alignment system.

3 LEDs — over 300 Lux in the chamber

Three LEDs illuminate the entire splicing chamber with an intensity of over 300 Lux — that is 6 times brighter than the previous S123C model. Working in dark cable shafts, ducts and during night installations is comfortable and safe.

8 N motor — reliable splicing of DROP cables

A powerful 8 N feed motor guarantees stable splicing even of very stiff DROP and installation cables — without the need to additionally straighten the cable before splicing.

Compatibility with SOC (Splice-On-Connector) connectors

The removable heater clamp allows work with SOC splice-on connectors. NINJA works with SOC connectors from Seikoh Giken and Diamond — allowing fast cable termination in FTTx installations without end-face polishing.

Durability in harsh field conditions

Despite its small dimensions, NINJA is fully suited to demanding installation conditions. The metal housing with rubber corners absorbs shocks and protects the electronics. IPX2 splash resistance, IP5X dust resistance and 76 cm drop tests guarantee reliability through years of intensive use.
