Albedo XGENIUS – 10G Tester

xGenius is a portable IP / Ethernet / PTP / SyncE / T1 / E1 / E0 / C37.94 and Datacom tester operating up to 10 Gb/s. The unit features a large touchscreen, battery power and a built-in rubidium clock with a GNSS receiver providing ±50 ns accuracy. Designed for both field and laboratory work — weight 1.9 kg, hot-swappable modules and remote control over VNC.

Albedo xGenius – multifunction PTP, network synchronization and 10GbE tester

Albedo xGenius is a portable, multifunction PTP and network synchronization tester capable of working with 10GbE, T1/E1/E0 and C37.94 interfaces. Thanks to a built-in rubidium clock synchronized with a GNSS receiver, the unit delivers the highest accuracy in latency and phase wander measurements – both in the laboratory and directly in the field.

The xGenius PTP tester enables simultaneous testing of synchronization and transmission in networks up to 10 Gb/s, supports PTP Master/Slave emulation (Telecom and Power profiles), RFC-2544, Y.1564 e-SAM, TCP RFC 6349 and packet capture at full interface speed (Wirespeed). It weighs only 1.9 kg and runs for up to 24 h on Li-Po batteries.

Rubidium clock and GNSS synchronization

At the heart of the xGenius synchronization module is a built-in rubidium clock disciplined by a GNSS receiver. This solution provides nanosecond-level accuracy essential for PTP Phase and One-way Delay measurements – without the need to connect an external time source. The clock runs continuously in holdover mode after loss of the GPS signal.

PTP and SyncE tests – packet network synchronization

xGenius is one of the most advanced PTP testers available on the market. It supports full PTP Master and Slave clock emulation in Unicast and Multicast modes at a rate of up to 128 packets/s. The tool also performs PDV capture, protocol analysis and correction field handling.

Packet Capture

The xGenius packet capture module works at full interface speed (Wirespeed) thanks to Zero-Delay technology. Captured data is saved in PCAP format compatible with Wireshark, with programmable capture filters and full full-duplex mode.

PDH / T1 / E1 testing

xGenius offers full TDM network testing capabilities, including jitter and synchronization wander analysis on T1 and E1 interfaces in accordance with ITU-T standards.

C37.94 test – substation applications and IEC 61850

The C37.94 module makes xGenius a tool dedicated to testing power infrastructure and substation automation (IEC 61850). The optical C37.94 interface is available in multi-mode (850 nm, 1500 m) and single-mode (1310 nm, 10 km) versions.
