BioNomadix Wireless Accelerometer Transmitter+Receiver (Tri-axial)

The BioNomadix® wireless, tri-axial accelerometer is an advanced acceleration measurement system that can record both quiet tilts and dynamic movements. It is ideally suited to mobile applications.

Key Parameters

The BioNomadix® wireless, tri-axial accelerometer is an advanced acceleration measurement system that can record both quiet tilts and dynamic movements. It is ideally suited to mobile applications.

Research Applications

Biomechanics, Cardiovascular Hemodynamics, Data Logging, ECG: Cardiology, Exercise Physiology, Psychophysiology, Remote Monitoring, Sleep Studies

Transmission Parameters (2000 Hz)

Telemetry data is transmitted at a rate of 2000 Hz, ensuring ultra-high waveform resolution at the receiver. The system features internal, optional Highpass and Lowpass filters that compensate for potential hand-motion artifacts.

Wearable Architecture

The module simulates a classic “wired” connection to the computer while delivering the full benefits of a wearable system:

Body mounting: The transmitter can easily be fastened to the subject’s wrist using the included flexible Velcro strap, or worn in the dedicated BioNomadix Shirt.

Noise immunity (CMRR): Because the device is battery-powered and isolated from the mains (no 50/60 Hz power leads on the subject), the common mode rejection ratio is extremely high. Notch Filters are typically not required at all!

Safety: No physical contact between the patient-worn equipment and the stationary power installation minimizes any risk of shock.

Architecture and Compatibility

MP200, MP160, MP150, AcqKnowledge

Signal Flow (Data Flow)

The BIOPAC telemetry system consists of 3 real-time connected modules that ensure crystal-clear signal quality from the subject all the way to the finished waveform on screen.

01

Wearable Transmitter

Worn on the subject's body. It records the physiological signal directly from the body at 2000 Hz, instantly digitizing it on the microchip and sending radio packets.

02

Receiver Module

Receives the encrypted telemetry and decompresses the signal in real time. This module physically plugs into a slot in the universal MP160 or MP200 research station.

03

Main Unit (MP200) & Software

The main station synchronizes signals from other interfaces (e.g. Eye-Tracker) and transmits them reliably via Ethernet cable to the powerful AcqKnowledge software on the researcher's computer.

Experimental Application

Physiological measurements are the gold standard in research, widely used in advanced scientific applications.

Key Areas

Biomechanics, Cardiovascular Hemodynamics, Data Logging, ECG: Cardiology, Exercise Physiology, Psychophysiology, Remote Monitoring, Sleep Studies

Group Dynamics

Because the system pairs separate wireless modules, you can freely monitor the reactions of two or more subjects side by side (e.g. during cooperative games or social experiments) without worrying about tangled cables.

Research in Motion and VR

Not being tethered to a lab "desk" opens the way to free navigation through VR simulators, testing interfaces while walking, or tracking stress under realistic conditions (Ecological Validity).

Additional Applications

The BioNomadix® wireless, tri-axial accelerometer is an advanced acceleration measurement system that can record both quiet tilts and dynamic movements. It is ideally suited to mobile applications.

The BioNomadix system has drastically simplified our research in Virtual Reality environments. Previously, cables caused constant artifacts for users trying to explore the virtual surroundings. Now the quality of the collected physiological data is perfectly smooth, and participants don't even remember they're wearing the equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the system require a stationary connection to the patient?

No, the BioNomadix module is fully wireless and worn on the patient's body. It communicates with the receiver via dedicated high-frequency telemetry, allowing complete freedom of movement in the laboratory or in VR simulator spaces.

What analysis software is included?

Signals from the amplifier are routed directly to the AcqKnowledge research software, which offers automated procedures for detecting and analyzing changes in the measured physiological parameters both in real time and during post-processing.

Can I synchronize the system with an Eye-Tracker scanner?

Yes. By using the open Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) protocol or the digital Hardware Triggering inputs on MP160 systems, all sensor streams can be perfectly time-aligned with video from eye-trackers or fNIRS.
