Yokogawa (formerly ANDO) offers the world’s highest-class optical spectrum analyzers. The latest analyzers from the AQ6370 family offer high quality, performance and application flexibility. For over 30 years Yokogawa analyzers have been a leader in the field of optical spectrum analysis used in Telecommunications, the development of optical components and the creation of applications that use light sources. Today, the latest generation of Yokogawa spectrum analyzers is used in research work in fields such as biotechnology, medicine, telecommunications and consumer electronics.

The AQ6370D is the latest version of Yokogawa’s most popular optical spectrum analyzer. It offers a versatile wavelength range from 600 nm to 1700 nm, ideal for both telecommunications and general-purpose applications. The unique free-space input design makes it possible to test both single-mode DWDM-class fibers and multimode fibers from VCSELs in a single model.

Ultra-high dynamic range

By reducing stray light in the monochromator, the AQ6370D achieves a very high close-in dynamic range:

Wide level range: from +20DBm to -90dBm

The AQ6370D can measure high-power sources such as optical amplifiers and pump lasers for Raman amplifiers, as well as very weak optical signals. The measurement sensitivity can be selected from seven categories depending on the test applications and measurement speed requirements.
– Improved measurement sensitivity: -85dBm (1000 to 1300nm)

– Smoothing function – Reduces noise on the measured spectrum

– High-dynamic mode – Achieve a better dynamic range by reducing the influence of stray light that arises when the input signal is a strong optical signal

Free Space input

– A single device supporting single-mode and multimode fibers
– Low insertion loss enables excellent measurement performance
– Low insertion-loss variation at the input
– Increased measurement repeatability
– No physical ferrule-to-ferrule contact (limiting mechanical damage to connectors)
– APC level correction; the APC level correction function corrects the level offset caused by the angular insertion loss of a PC connector.

Excellent performance

Fast sweep: 0.2s/100 nm

Thanks to an advanced monochromator, faster electronic circuits and noise-reduction techniques, the AQ6370D achieves high measurement speed even when measuring a steep spectrum from DFB-LD or DWDM signals, or when measuring a low-power signal from a broadband light source.

Fast remote interface (Ethernet, GP-IB)

Wide span, high resolution

50,001 data sampling points extend the measurement range in a single sweep while maintaining high wavelength resolution. This makes measurement easier and more efficient than in conventional systems.

Easy operation

Zoom tracking
