The AFL Multi-Fiber Switch is a fiber optic switch that turns a single-port OTDR into a multi-fiber tester. It enables automated testing of MPO/MTP-terminated cables without breakout cables and without manually re-connecting each fiber – saving time and money in dense data-center networks. Available in two versions: MPO-24 (up to 24 fibers) and MFS (12 fibers).

Automated multi-fiber testing at hyperscale speed

In data centers where the MPO testing bottleneck slows down deployments, the MPO-24 Multi-Fiber Switch enables efficient testing of 12- and 24-fiber MPO cables without breakout cables. Combined with the FlexScan FS200 SM OTDR, the technician sets up the test station once and the device automates sequential measurement of the entire fiber array – with no complex cable management or manual switching. The FlexScan FS200 in FleXpress mode together with the USB-controlled MPO switch delivers the industry’s fastest multi-fiber OTDR measurement.

Two versions, one goal: faster validation

The MPO-24 Switch enables OTDR testing of MPO-24/MTP-terminated cables, as well as MPO-16, MPO-12 and MPO-8 using the appropriate launch rings. It lets you verify selected or all fibers of a multi-fiber connector in a single test. The MFS (Multi-Fiber Switch) enables testing of 12-fiber cables without a breakout cable – with a single instrument, regardless of polarity, without disconnecting and reconnecting the equipment. Both versions work with AFL FlexScan FS200/FS300 OTDRs and are available as a kit or as an add-on set for users who already own an OTDR.
