ALBEDO GPON Doctor Cube transforms the approach to GPON/XGS-PON testing — from a field activity into a distributed validation model. It is a remotely deployable, autonomous node that is placed directly in the network (in the central office, at an aggregation point, at the customer site, in the lab or in the field) and is then operated remotely — from a NOC, an engineering lab or a support center. Instead of sending experts into the field, the operator deploys devices wherever visibility is needed and controls them remotely, continuously and at scale. The phrase that best captures the Cube philosophy is: „move the equipment, not your team”.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How does the GPON Doctor Cube differ from the portable 4k7/9k7/10k7 analyzers?

The portable analyzers are operated on site by an engineer. The Cube is a remotely deployable, autonomous node – it stays in the network permanently or for the duration of a campaign and is operated remotely over 5G/IP. In addition, it features built-in multi-ONT optical switching and remote ONT power control, which a manual tester does not have.

Why does the Cube have built-in 5G?

Native 5G provides remote access to the device even where no convenient management link is available, without complex VPN or firewall configuration. This allows the Cube to be deployed at any point in the network and controlled from the NOC – delivering the „deploy and operate” model.

Is the Cube suitable for continuous monitoring, or only for troubleshooting?

For both. The Cube works well both for time-limited diagnostic campaigns and as a permanent validation node continuously monitoring critical network locations, with background and scheduled captures and automatic data upload.
