BioNomadix 2Ch Dyno+EMG Wireless Transmitter+Receiver

Wireless pressure-based dynamometer with an EMG module. A unique BioNomadix system that enables simultaneous, wireless recording of grip force and the electromyographic (EMG) activity of the associated muscles with laboratory-grade precision.

Hybrid Measurement (Dual-Signal)

Simultaneous recording of grip force and muscle potentials (EMG).

Integrated Filters

Built-in hardware high-pass and low-pass filters providing a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

Wireless Freedom

No movement restrictions for the subject, key in modern biomechanics and sports.

Interchangeable Transducers

Compatible with pressure transducers such as the BN-CLENCH-XDCR.

BIOPAC Ecosystem

Full integration with the MP160/MP150 platforms and analysis in AcqKnowledge.

Laboratory-Precision Parameters

CH 1: EMG

Muscle Potentials

Monitoring motor unit recruitment within the studied muscle with exceptional precision and no delay.

CH 2: DYNAMOMETER

Grip Force (Pressure)

Recording pressure changes from the bulb, allowing precise correlation of the generated force with muscle activation.

SAMPLING

2000 Hz / Channel

Ultra-fast recording ensuring that no muscle twitch or tone change, however brief, goes unrecorded.

RESOLUTION

High Sensitivity (mV)

Wide bandwidth of 1-500 Hz enabling precise analysis in the time and frequency domain (FFT).

Signal Flow (Data Flow)

The BIOPAC telemetry system consists of 3 real-time connected modules that ensure crystal-clear signal quality from the patient all the way to the finished chart on screen.

01

Wearable Transmitter

Worn on the subject's body. It simultaneously records the EMG signal directly from the muscles and pressure changes (force) from the dynamometer, digitizing the signal instantly.

02

Receiver Module

Receives encrypted telemetry and decompresses the signal in real time. This module physically plugs into a slot in the universal MP160 or MP200 research station.

03

Main Unit (MP200) & Software

The main station synchronizes signals from other interfaces and reliably transmits them by cable over Ethernet to the powerful AcqKnowledge software on the researcher's computer.

Experimental Applications

Electromyographic measurements are the non-invasive gold standard in biomechanics and psychophysiology, widely used to study muscle strength, fatigue, and movement patterns.

Biomechanics and Sports

Synchronous detection of muscle activity during movement. Enables the study of motor unit recruitment, assessing training effectiveness and isometric tension.

Group Dynamics

Because the system pairs separate wireless modules, you can seamlessly monitor the tension responses of two or more subjects side by side (e.g., during cooperative games).

Research in Motion and VR

Not being tethered to a lab "desk" in the laboratory opens the way to free navigation through VR simulators and testing postural tension under realistic conditions (Ecological Validity).

Rehabilitation and Ergonomics

Assessment of skeletal muscle tension at workstations, while driving vehicles, and as an invaluable tool for objectively tracking progress during rehabilitation.

The BioNomadix system has drastically simplified our research in Virtual Reality environments. Previously, cables caused constant artifacts for users trying to explore the virtual environment. Now the EMG data quality is perfectly smooth, and participants barely even notice they are wearing the equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the system require a stationary connection to the patient?

No, the BioNomadix module is fully wireless and worn on the patient's body. It communicates with the receiver via dedicated high-frequency telemetry, allowing full freedom of movement in the lab or in VR simulator spaces.

What analysis software is included?

Signals from the amplifier are routed directly to the AcqKnowledge research software, which offers automatic procedures for evaluating muscle tension (RMS), spectral analysis (FFT), and calculating spikes from the EMG signal, both in real time and during post-processing.

Can I synchronize EMG with an Eye-Tracker?

Yes. By using the open Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) protocol or the digital Hardware Triggering inputs on MP160/MP200 systems, all sensor data streams can be perfectly time-synchronized with video from eye-trackers or fNIRS.
