Software for simulating and designing fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) using the phase-mask method: uniform, apodized and chirped gratings; calculation of wavelength, FWHM, SLSR and reflectance. Complements the NORIA system.
Grating Design Software (GDS) is an easy-to-use program for simulating and designing fiber Bragg gratings (FBG). Unlike other simulation tools, GDS has a direct link to manufacturing reality — the fabrication of FBGs using the phase-mask method: simulation parameters are defined based on the pitch and chirp coefficient of the phase mask, while the effective refractive index of the fiber is calculated from the parameters provided by the fiber manufacturer.
Simulations performed in GDS have been thoroughly validated in real-world applications. The software is a natural complement to the NORIA FBG production system.
