LIGHTEL Fiber Optic Attenuators, Hybrids, PBS/PBC and PM Patch Cords

LIGHTEL fiber path supplementary components: fixed and variable attenuators (VOA), hybrids (Tap/Isolator/WDM), polarization beam splitters/combiners PBS/PBC, PM patch cords, PDR and Fiber U-Turn. UPC/APC connectors, 1064/1310/1550 nm versions.

LIGHTEL attenuators, hybrids, polarization beam splitters/combiners (PBS/PBC) and PM patch cords are a group of components that supplement the fiber path. Attenuators (fixed and variable) precisely reduce the power level, hybrids combine several functions in a single device (isolation, WDM, power tap), and polarization beam splitters/combiners and PM patch cords serve the polarization-maintaining path.

Variants offered

  • Attenuators / VOA: fixed single-mode and multimode (pluggable), inline and manually adjustable
  • Hybrids: Tap/Isolator, WDM/Isolator, Tap/Isolator/WDM, WDM/Isolator/WDM
  • PBS / PBC: polarization beam splitter/combiner 1310/1480/1550 nm and 1064 nm
  • PM patch cords and polarization diversity receiver (PDR)
  • Fiber routing: Fiber Optic U-Turn

Frequently asked questions

Fixed or variable attenuator (VOA)?
A fixed attenuator (pluggable/inline) is used where the attenuation level is known and constant; a manually adjustable one — when the power level needs to be tuned during path commissioning.

What do I gain by using a hybrid instead of separate components?
A hybrid (e.g. Tap/Isolator/WDM) integrates several functions in a single device — it reduces the number of splices, insertion loss and module size.

What is the difference between a UPC and an APC connector?
APC (8° angle) provides higher return loss (≥ 60 dB) and is preferred in analog/PON paths; UPC (≥ 50 dB) in typical digital links.

Ordering information and configuration

All LIGHTEL passive components are made to order and configured to the application requirements. When submitting an inquiry, please specify: wavelength range, fiber type, required parameters (insertion loss, isolation, PDL), connector type (LC / SC / FC / MPO or unconnectorized pigtail) and housing / packaging type. Price is quoted individually — use the “Request a quote” button.
