NorthLab ProCleave LD-EC – cleaver for large-diameter fibers (PCF, hollow-core)

Automatic cleaver for sensitive large-diameter fibers (125–550 µm) — photonic crystal fibers (PCF), hollow-core. Extended clamp, cleave angle typically below 0.5°.

NorthLab ProCleave™ LD-EC (Extended Clamp) is an automatic, advanced fiber optic cleaver adapted to sensitive fiber structures — photonic crystal fibers (PCF), air-core fibers (hollow-core) and similar. The heart of the device is an extended glass clamping mechanism that minimizes the risk of damaging or breaking a delicate fiber during cleaving.

The universal clamping mechanism self-adjusts to the fiber diameter — requiring no external parts or accessories — and handles fibers in the 125–550 µm range. All critical cleave parameters are automatically monitored and controlled, translating into very flat endfaces and low cleave angles (typically below 0.5°).

The device allows programming four cleave programs, easily selected from the touch panel, and power is provided by a built-in battery or a mains power supply.
