The 4k7/9k7/10k7 analyzers are passive – they listen to and interpret traffic in an existing network. The OLTe is active – it generates control traffic as an OLT itself, in order to test ONT conformance and performance under controlled laboratory conditions. They are often used together: the OLTe drives the test, the analyzer observes and evaluates.
