Coherent Solutions’ IQABC features an advanced ABC (Automatic Bias Control) algorithm that precisely and reliably controls and optimizes all bias points of the modulator, regardless of the modulation format or pattern.

Optimizing the DC bias points of an IQ modulator is not trivial. There are 6 different Mach-Zehnder structures inside a single dual-polarization modulator, which simultaneously affects the properties of a single optical signal. Trying to optimize the alignment points while performing optical signal intensity measurements is time-consuming, inaccurate and requires a lot of knowledge and experience.

Thanks to a robust, adaptive ABC algorithm, IQABC will find the optimal alignment points and maintain optimization against all changes and fluctuations in the signal.

Convenient and easy to operate
Simply connect an OIF-compliant IQ modulator module to the IQABC modulator adapter board and feed the modulator optical output to the IQABC, and then you are ready to work. IQABC automatically performs the optimization.

Intuitive graphical user interface

IQABC can operate in standalone mode using the built-in front control panel and display. It also has complete control software, IQSigmanManager, which is an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. Thanks to Ethernet connectivity, IQABC control can be accessed from anywhere on the local network, and the control can even be automated using SCPI commands.
