LDI (Laser Diode Illuminator) are Oxxius multi-line laser illuminators (from the 89 North portfolio) — ready-to-use, multi-color light sources for fluorescence microscopy, combining up to 7 laser lines in the 405–730 nm range in a single fiber output, with power up to 1000 mW per line. Available in two generations: the proven LDI Gen1 and the new LDI-G2 with increased power density and stability. Ideal for confocal, spinning-disk, SIM, TIRF, PALM/STORM and optogenetics.
The LDI illuminator delivers stable, linear and high-power multi-line illumination through a single fiber, eliminating the need for user adjustment — the system is factory-aligned and virtually maintenance-free. All sources are linear and stable from 1 % to 100 % power, making the LDI a quantitative light source for precision imaging. The Gen2 generation increases power density (smaller core diameter, single fiber), improves beam quality and stability — for the most demanding live-cell and super-resolution protocols.
