The AFL SLP5-6D is a single-mode OLTS kit for optical loss measurement and certification of SM links.

The AFL SLP5-6D is a rugged kit for optical loss measurement and certification of single-mode fiber links, combining the OLS2-Dual dual-wavelength laser light source (1310/1550 nm) with the OPM5 optical power meter. The kit includes TRM® 2.0 reporting software for generating pass/fail certificates.

The SLP5-6D is a rugged kit for testing and certification of single-mode fiber networks per industry standards. Each kit includes a dual-wavelength single-mode laser light source and an OPM5 optical power meter. The backlit OPM5 display is clearly readable in both full sunlight and dimly lit locations, and interchangeable adapters allow connection to common network interfaces as well as easy access for cleaning the transmit and receive ports.

OLS2-Dual Light Source

The OLS2-Dual is a single-port laser light source (1310 and 1550 nm) designed for insertion loss measurement of single-mode fiber links. Thanks to its highly stabilized output signal (single- or dual-wavelength), it delivers accurate SM loss measurement results in line with current TIA/EIA requirements. Equipped with a standard 2 kHz test tone, it works perfectly with a fiber identifier (OFI-200D or OFI-400).

OPM5 Optical Power Meter

The OPM5 provides accurate measurements, reference storage for each calibrated wavelength, detection of multiple test tones for fiber identification, and internal data logging. A simple interface lets you organize results into files, and the file manager makes fast re-measurement easy and separates results by job — speeding up report generation. Results are quickly transferred to a computer via USB.

Wave ID — Greater Efficiency

The standard Wave ID feature automatically detects and sets the received wavelength, preventing configuration and measurement errors. It significantly increases efficiency and reduces technician errors, saving time by eliminating the need to test each wavelength separately.

Reporting with TRM® 2.0

The OPM5 file management system lets you organize results across multiple files. Saved results can be transferred to a computer via USB for viewing, analysis, and professional report generation in the included TRM® 2.0 Basic software (Windows®). TRM® 2.0 enables the application of standards-based rules and the creation of complete certification reports with pass/fail results and calculated headroom.
