APEX’s optical Spectrum analyzer

Wavelength ranges

APEX Technologies offers a wide range of optical spectrum analyzers from 800 nm to 1655 nm. High resolution is now available not only in the C-band and L-band, but also around 850 nm, 980 nm, 1064 nm, and in the O-band, E-band and S-band!

Ultra-high-resolution optical bandpass filter

With up to 500 times better resolution than the best grating-based optical spectrum analyzer available on the market, these new-generation optical spectrum analyzers can display the true shape of the signal spectrum, not just its envelope.

Use it as a wavelength meter

3 internal wavelength calibrators (absolute and relative) allow the instrument to deliver an excellent wavelength accuracy specification (+/- 2 pm). This high wavelength accuracy makes it possible to use the instrument as a wavelength meter.

Ultra-high dynamic range and close-in dynamic range!

APEX Technologies optical spectrum analyzers achieve more than 83 dB of dynamic range. They also have the unique advantage that this high dynamic range is genuinely close to the peak. For example, while the best standard grating-based OSA can reach 78 dB at +/- 1 nm, APEX Technologies optical spectrum analyzers can reach 80 dB at +/- 18 pm from the peak!

Excellent-resolution filters for OSNR measurement!

Several resolution filters are available, ranging from 5 MHz to 250 GHz. The rectangular resolution filters of APEX Technologies enable near-perfect signal integration at the selected resolution, whereas a grating-based Optical Spectrum Analyzer integrates in a triangular shape with a wide base.

This clean integration allows our OSA to perform a much more realistic level measurement, essential for accurate OSNR measurement.

Two optical spectrum analyzer channels, one per polarization axis!

The input signal is split into two orthogonal polarization axes, analyzed simultaneously by two internal independent channels. The APEX Technologies optical spectrum analyzer has the unique advantage of displaying the two polarization channels separately and simultaneously. It can also recombine them and display a polarization-independent measurement.
