FITEL S185 · SYSTEM DESIGNER
Do not select a splicer alone. Design the complete process.
Specialty fibers require more than the right heat source. Holder geometry, surface preparation, end-face inspection, coating restoration and parameter verification all matter. That is why we created an interactive configurator for the FITEL S185 family.

Applications
One form, multiple research profiles
The configurator lets you select several applications and fiber families. Each profile keeps its own geometry, cladding diameter and coating diameter.
Large diameters, PM-LDF fibers, combiners and power-delivery fibers.
Orientation control and end-face imaging for structures with asymmetric markers.
Delicate geometries that require control of heat input and microstructure collapse.
Alignment of birefringent structures and rotation control before splicing.
Process selection for lenses, tapering and non-standard glass components.
The coverage matrix shows when a second platform or a 3SAE system is required.
Technology video
The FITEL S185 family and the complete workflow
The video compares High Strength, PM, LDF, Ring of Fire and End-View variants and explains the role of NorthLab and 3SAE process equipment.
Complete workflow
From preparation to verification
The result does not stop at the splicer model. It also covers the equipment required to build a repeatable process.
Describe your fibers and see a preliminary system design
Copy the result, save it as a PDF or send it directly to an INTERLAB engineer.
The configurator is a preselection tool. The final model, holder and splicing recipe must be confirmed using the actual fiber geometry and an application sample.
