APX/APBX APEX Tunable Laser Source

The AP405xA series tunable laser sources, equivalents of the Santec TSL and Yenista TLS lasers, are high-performance external-cavity tunable lasers available in various wavelength ranges from 1030 nm to 1630 nm in OEM and Benchtop versions.

APEX Technologies offers TLS models covering the wavelength range from 1030 to 1630 nm in a benchtop or OEM version. The benchtop version allows 1, 2 or 4 TLS models to be integrated into a single enclosure. The output power depends on the TLS model and can reach up to 15 dBm. A model with higher output power and a spectral range from 730 nm to 2000 nm can be supplied on request.

Our TLS model achieves excellent wavelength accuracy thanks to the use of two internal wavelength calibrators. One part of the output power is routed through an etalon – a wavelength reference that uses an interferometric system enabling high relative frequency calibration. We also achieve high absolute wavelength accuracy of +/- 3 pm using the absorption spectrum of a gas cell. Our TLS also provides a narrow linewidth < 150 kHz, as shown in the measurement below.

The APEX Technologies TLS operates with an adjustable sweep speed from 5 to 100 nm/s. This laser includes a piezoelectric input that enables laser frequency modulation up to 10kHz. It also offers the ability to modulate the laser intensity.
