Eye tracking software for experimental research

Together with Tobii Pro hardware, Tobii Pro Lab provides a complete solution for studying human behavior. It delivers a visual user interface and dedicated software features that effectively guide and support the researcher through all phases of the eye tracking experiment – from test design and recording to analysis. Designed to facilitate good experimental practice, Pro Lab makes it easy for beginners to get started with eye tracking and offers great flexibility as your research ambitions grow. Pro Lab is our dedicated software for working with our screen-based and wearable eye trackers to achieve the most optimal and efficient processing of data streams.
Workflow efficiency Pro Lab increases efficiency at every stage of the research process thanks to its visual and functional user interface and specialized software features. You can easily create complex experiments, collect eye tracking data, qualitatively observe and analyze individual recordings, and aggregate data for quantitative analysis and visualization – all within a single solution.

Pro Lab’s analysis and visualization tools let you easily process and prepare large amounts of eye tracking data for meaningful comparison, interpretation, and presentation. You can calculate various eye tracking metrics and create a visual representation of your data, thereby gaining a data overview and report results.
Data you can trust Pro Lab is built on a platform that ensures precise and consistent timing accuracy – down to the millisecond. With transparent tools for controlling the collected data, you can confidently rely on your analyses and settings. This includes configurable gaze filters, full access to all raw gaze data, as well as insight into metric calculations.
Integration and co-registration Pro Lab makes it easy to combine eye tracking with biometric data streams such as EEG, GSR, and ECG. The Shimmer3 GSR+ Unit integration provides a single software solution when used together with our screen-based hardware. For co-registration with other data sources, it is possible to send a TTL marker at each stimulus onset to ensure precise data synchronization.
Software editions Tobii Pro Lab is a comprehensive solution that works with all our eye trackers – from screen-based to wearable devices. Choose one of three different editions to meet your specific needs: Full Edition, Analyzer Edition, Screen-Based Edition.
1. Full Edition The Full Edition provides access to all the modules needed to design, record, and analyze screen-based experiments. You can also add your own recordings and use advanced analytical tools to obtain the results you are interested in. The Full Edition includes all the features offered by the Analyzer and Screen-Based editions, and additionally provides seamless integration with E-Prime.
2. Analyzer Edition The Analyzer Edition provides both automatic and manual data mapping from Tobii Pro Glasses 2 and 3, thereby saving time and increasing efficiency. It gives access to the full set of tools needed for final analysis, visualization, as well as data and video export from wearable recordings.
3. Screen-Based Edition This edition provides the complete set of eye tracking tools that support all stages of screen-based research: from test design and recording to data analysis and export. As with all other editions, you have full control and access to locally stored raw and processed data at any time.

Simple data synchronization Co-register stimulus presentation and eye tracking data recordings with other biometric data streams without the need for configuration or extensive technical knowledge. – TTL signals sent from the software through the parallel port at stimulus onset are enabled with a single mouse click – Accurate and consistent stimulus onset and duration timing in milliseconds – Presentation of images on screen for as little as 50 milliseconds – Use the sent events for efficient synchronization – Process eye tracking data in Pro Lab, export it (PLOF format), and import it into supporting third-party biometric software for a more comprehensive representation of the data.
